Here we zoom into the center of the mandala to look at the form emerging from the water on Day 6.
This portion of the mandala employees a double image. Again, a simple example of a double image is the two faces and vase illustration. Two identical faces in silhouette pointed towards one another against a white background. A vase or wine glass is formed in the space between the two faces.
The double image here borrows from Salvador Dali’s The Metamorphosis of Narcissus. The form can be read in two different ways: First as the hand of God holding up a work in progress Adam, and second, as Adam himself. The two are fused to create a deeper meaning.
